Our Fire District is happy to report the following:
On August 1, 2021, Captain Al Adomanis retired after an exemplary 26 year career with the fire district. We wish Captain Adomanis the best of health and happiness in his retirement.
Firefighter Nicholas Giambri has been promoted to Captain to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Captain Adomanis.
Chews Landing volunteer firefighter Dan Foley has been hired as a career firefighter and assigned to the C Platoon.
Please join us in congratulating and wishing the best of luck to Captain Adomanis, Captain Giambri and Firefighter Foley!
In other news, the fire district placed in service a new Pierce Enforcer PUC fire apparatus on August 1st, known as Squad 88 and assigned to our 24 hour shared career staff. The costs for the purchase and maintenance of the apparatus, along with all of the equipment, is being shared equally with our partner district, Fire District #4. Our shared services program, started in July of 2018, has allowed us to provide our residents with a 24/7/365 career staffed fire truck at half the cost of what it would cost to fund the program ourselves. Our fire district also continues to enjoy the services of a dedicated volunteer firefighting staff.
